We proudly present the latest version of our product. The UNMS team prepared the biggest update so far for you with hundreds of smaller upgrades, so for the sake of your time, we will list just a dozen of the most interesting ones here. This is the most important feature of the 0.13.1 release by far. The ability to create a topological map of a user’s network is of course quite useful by itself, but it represents a stepping stone to many advanced features in the future as well. This complex new feature took several months of development as it demanded complex changes in the actual structure of the UNMS code. Although this is already a great feature, please note that it is just a first step and we will continue to improve the topology map in the future. One of the future upgrades will be a full automatization of the topology map creation. Right now UNMS can create datalinks between wireless and fiber devices, but Ethernet connections need to be added manually. Our goal is to make this process completely automatic.
There will be two levels of the network topology map. The Overall view will show only sites, and the Detailed view will focus on a single site or client and show all network elements connected to it. This is a preview of the Overall view:

In order to display a complete topology map of your network, including third-party devices, we created basic support for third-party devices. Those represent elements in the network that UNMS knows very little about and will basically only include their IP, hostname, and interfaces. This is still very useful information in order to monitor non-Ubiquiti devices you may have in your architecture.
The ability to precisely measure data throughput for individual clients is a critical step on the road to integration with UCRM. NetFlow is a brand new module which will not only measure data throughput but also recognize unknown IP addresses in a network and use that information to create a third-party device. The data acquired with NetFlow will allow UNMS to provide better graphs for your new client and site dashboards.
Performance is a priority for us, just second after security. In earlier releases, we focused on single-core optimization, so this time we’re introducing multicore support and optimization. There are some significant improvements under the hood, including support for multiple Node.js workers with load balancing capability. We also moved most of the unstructured device data into the PostgreSQL database to allow faster processing and network status analysis in the future.
Wireless Configuration for airMAX AC/M Devices
With this update, UNMS further improves the scope of airMAX device configuration capability.
Monitoring for airFiber
In our ongoing effort to broaden the scale of devices manageable by UNMS, we are introducing monitoring support for airFiber models. Please note that it is necessary to have UNMS compatible FW as well. For example, firmware version 4.1.0-beta.6 is required for UNMS management of the AF11X, AF24, AF24HD, AF5, AF5X, AF4X, AF3X, and AF2X.
Dashboard for airFiber LTU
This release includes a well-arranged dashboard tailored specifically for airFiber LTU devices.
Improved Device Discovery Tool
Device discovery is one of the most user-friendly ways of adding devices to UNMS. Initially, there were some limitations to this tool, so we decided to get rid of them. With this release, device discovery can target devices in public IP ranges thanks to support of the TCP/IP protocol. This will significantly improve the customer experience for many users, especially if they need to add many devices at once.
For each site/client, we designed new dashboards that present useful information in an intuitive overview format. The goal of these new dashboards is to conveniently show all the data you need including the new NetFlow, Alerts, Device Links, Photo Gallery, and more. With this step, UNMS GUI also comes closer to being integrated with the UCRM user interface.
Device Maintenance Mode
This frequently requested feature allows exclusion of devices from the overall network health measurement. This is particularly helpful when the network administrator wants to keep devices with known issues connected to UNMS for administrative or other strategic reasons. With this feature, you can easily mark any device to exclude it from the overall network health measurement and prevent it from generating outage alerts.
EdgeSwitch Ports Statistics
UNMS can now display some useful statistics for EdgeSwitch ports.
New Login Screen
The very first thing that catches your eye after you first run the 0.13.1 version is the new login screen featuring handpicked pictures taken by members of our great community.
