The all-new Evidence System helps verify that recorded video remains authentic from the moment it is captured. Each clip can be cryptographically fingerprinted with SHA-256 and digitally signed, allowing downloaded evidence to be verified at evidence.ui.com. Authentic videos are confirmed, while altered or tampered-with clips are automatically flagged.
Protect 7.2 introduces an advanced case management experience designed for real-world investigations. Teams can see who viewed a case, which assets were accessed, and what evidence was downloaded, creating a clear audit trail from incident review to resolution.
ONVIF support has been expanded with broader support for common cameras, giving teams more flexibility when integrating third-party cameras into UniFi Protect. Recording and encoding settings can be centrally managed, third-party cameras can be synchronized with a common UniFi time server, and camera I/O ports can support flexible trigger-and-action workflows.
Point of Sale support continues to grow with a flexible Point of Sale API. Retail and commercial teams can connect transactions with video context while supporting broad compatibility with third-party platforms.
AI Key now supports real-time PPE detection, helping teams identify potential construction-site and warehouse safety issues as they happen. This gives safety and security teams a faster way to respond when required personal protective equipment is missing and supports stronger site safety practices.
Edge AI is advancing with the new Second-Stage Verification service. When cameras detect low-confidence events or competing object classifications, those events can be checked using a more powerful second-stage model to reduce false reports and improve accuracy.
The mobile experience is leveling up too, with frame by frame scrubbing directly from the timeline. And flexible widgets that instantly unlock doors through superlink relays, or control unified dimmable POE floodlights.
Site Manager continues to improve with a native multi-tenant, multi-site view of global physical security deployments. Teams can monitor and manage distributed environments more efficiently, with centralized visibility across sites, tenants, and infrastructure.
UniFi Protect 7.2 brings together evidence verification, case management, expanded ONVIF support, POS integrations, smarter AI, G6 Edge Cameras, and global Site Manager visibility. It is built to help organizations deploy, verify, investigate, and scale physical security operations with greater confidence from edge to core.
